I hope I'm doing this right. Her indulgence as a child was Dairy Queen. and Deb's first job was De-tasseling corn.

Please put me in for the drawing to win the book. Thanks so much.

How cool, Crystal! And hey, I'll throw in a copy of the brand new sequel to A Vow to Cherish. Within This Circle just released from Steeple Hill this month. Just let me know who the winner is and I'll be delighted to pop a copy in the mail to them.

I've loved reading your When I was Just a Kid blog!

Oh I would love to read both of them. Her indulgence was a good midwest standard for kids: DQ. My favorite was their ice cream sandwiches. And then her first job was one my mom refused to let me have but that most young teens in our area in NE had: detasseling corn.

I have another Deb Raney book on my TBR pile that looks appealing and would love to read some more of her books. Please include me in the drawing.

Thanks.

How exciting!
Yes, DQ was a family favorite for us too. I can still remeber everybody's orders: Dilly Bar for Dad and little brother, Peanur buster Parfait for Mom, chocolate cone with Crunch Cote for me. Mmmm...
Deb's first job: detasseling corn. Like Cara, my mom wouldn't let me. Should I thank her?

From Deb's description of detasseling corn, I would think it was a blessing not to be allowed to do it! (My mom and dad wouldn't let me do it,either, but my little brother got to do it. He had all that money...)

I loved DQ, as well. I loved their pumpkin ice cream that they had in the fall.

I forgot to mention the drawing date! Look back here for a winner on Saturday, November 17.

Please enter me to will copies of Deb Raney's books "A Vow to Cherish" and "Within This Circle". They both sound fabulous! Her childhood indulgence was Dairy Queen (my personal favorite - vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate - before "magic shell" existed!). Her first job was detasseling corn (far cry from McDonalds!). My email is dmthomason13@hotmail.com. Thank you!

Deb's childhood indulgence: Dairy Queen
Deb's first job: de-tassling corn - been there, done that - boy, that's sticky stuff
My email: page.mcmanus@yahoo.com

Thanks for the opportunity to learn more about Deb!

That is too funny - look at how many of us leaving comments never actually de-tassled corn, but wanted to because it was good money for teens! Also, as a kid, everyone should have Dairy Queen as their childhood indulgence! Hello, mint chocolate dilly bars - yum!

This is an email from Dana andI am entering her comments for her and she is entered in the drawing::

"I use a scanner and that is how I read books on my computer, but the blogs have that word verification which doesn't work with my screen reader.

I love Deb Raney.

I would be elated to read her new books.

Thank-you for offering a drawing for the book. Her childhood indulgence was a trip to Dairy Queen. Her first job was detasseling corm. I wonder if the smell of calamine lotion puts her back into the corn fields as it does my Mom who also detasseled corn.
